Amnesty International Movie Night - Red Joan

Are you looking to see a gripping, interesting film with a strong female lead? Join the Amnesty International Womens Rights Defenders Network at Kino cineamas for the opening night of Red Joan (M). Based on a true story, Red Joan is a spy drama starring Sophie Cookson, Stephen Campbell Moore, Tom Hughes and Judi Dench.

Joan Stanley is a widow living out a quiet retirement in the suburbs when, shockingly, the British Secret Service places her under arrest. The charge: providing classified scientific information - including details of the building of the atomic bomb - to the Soviet government for decades. As the interrogation gets underway, Joan relives the dramatic events that shaped her life and her beliefs.

All proceeds go to the work of the Amnesty International Womens Rights Defenders group, Victoria.
